ALMOST half of British women get out of breath running for the bus, a study says. Men are slightly fitter – only 42 per cent of them would be left gasping by the same sprint. Overall, 47 per cent of people say they can run no further than half a mile – and one in five cannot manage 100 metres, the alarming study by the British Heart Foundation found. A spokesman said: ‘These statistics paint a worrying picture about the nation’s fitness levels.’
